Alf Science

What the heck is “Alf Science?” On CBS’ “Caught on Tape,” they have an animal rights activist spraypainting “ALF SCIENCE” on a wall.

Ah! When I checked goooooogle, I learn this:

“The Animal Liberation Front sent videos to a number of media outlets this week showing at three activists plus the camera operator breaking into a University of Iowa animal laboratory… The video also shows the extremists destroying computers and spray painting slogans such as “ALF,” “Science Not Sadism” and “Free the Animals”.”

Still, I can’t understand why the lovable Alf, of the “Alf” sit-com, would lend his name to an organization that protects cats. Alf, as you remember, liked EATING cats.

In other Alf news:

“ALF’s Hit Talk Show” is back on TV Land! All-new episodes are shown Fridays on 11 p.m. The pilot of the all-new “ALF’s Hit Talk Show” in July was a huge success! Now, there are 6 new episodes coming up, shown Fridays at 11 p.m. on TV Land! Join ALF and his co-host Ed McMahon as they welcome lots of new interesting guest and for out-of-this-world ALF entertainment! :-)
In the frist episode on this Friday, November 5, guests are Merv Griffin and Joe Mantegna. Repeats are shown 3 hours later (Saturday morning 2 a.m.), on Tuesday morning (1 a.m.) and Friday morning (7 a.m.).

I happen to know that ALF is, in fact, an activist–although not necessarily for cats. When I was a kid, I joined the ALF fan club and as part of my membership, I signed a contract promising to protect the environment of the planet earth. ALF is very conscious of the need to be green, and I’m proud to support him in his cause!

Alf may be an environmentalist, but I question his animal rights convictions. Furthermore, Alf Science is, at best, a pseudo-science, and we can’t reasonably believe anything that Alf espouses.
