From Protein Wisdom we learn this bit of news:
PARIS, Oct. 28 (Xinhuanet) — France will be always on the side of the Palestinian Authority leader Yasser Arafat, French Foreign Minister Michel Barnier declared Thursday.
“France, as I told you (Arafat) in Ramallah on June 30, will be always on your side to back your effort in favor of a just and negotiated peace,” Barnier said.
“It is with concern and sympathy that I keep informed of the development of your health,” said Barnier.
“I wish to express my most sincere wishes for your recovery, hoping that you can return rapidly to your place to lead the Palestinian Authority,” he said.
Arafat should stay in France, if he survives. Two peas in a pod.
I really am not being a smart ass here. In fact, I’m probably being a bit ignorant of the facts, but…
Someone tell me why it would be a bad thing if Arafat dies? Does Israel or the U.S. still negotiate with that S.O.B.? If he dies, won’t that be a GOOD thing for world peace?
It would be a great good if Arafat were to meet his deserved end. Not only has he done everything he could to foul up any kind of peace process between the Palestinians and the Israelis (if such a thing is possible), but he is himself responsible for the murders of many, many civilians in homicide bombings. That the French are so unqualified about their affection for him shows you what they think of Israel and Jews in particular.
