I am declaring that today, May 13, 2010 is International Sandwich Day. Today, buy a sandwich, eat your sandwich, enjoy it, and then go back to work.
This day is not to be confused with the following holidays:
– Take Your Sandwich to Work Day
– Sandwich Appreciation Week
– Sandwich History Month
– Sandwichmas
Someone else already declared an International Sandwich Day for November 3. I don’t care about that. I am declaring that today, May 13, 2010 is International Sandwich Day.
Bon Appetit. Smacznego. Pofta buna. Enjoy!
I also think people should use the term “sandwich” as much as possible today.
Please respect the previously established holiday. It’s not like you can just pick a new date for Thanksgiving or President’s Day.
Stop essentializing the sandwich.
Established my butt. The people who “established” November 3 has as much authority to establish a holiday as I do.
By the way, I am declaring May as Sandwich History Month.
November 3 is the birthday of the Earl of Sandwich, hence any sandwich-based holiday should respect that.
We live in a civilization of rules. We can’t all just go around creating or altering holidays at mad whim.
I refuse to accept this mockery, this sham.
May I remind you that May is Sandwich History Month, and as such you must respect sandwich history. Apparently, you have forgotten that Rabbi Hillel, A.K.A. Hillel the Elder, from the 1st Century BCE, invented the first sandwich, on Passover. He put some pascal lamb and some bitter herbs between two pieces of matzah and ate it. SANDWICH. That was CIVILIZATION. It is also well-known that May 13th is the day he thought of doing that, and he waited for almost a whole year before implementing his plan.
Respect Sandwich History Month like you have never respected anything before.
That will never happen.
